General Thoughts: I need to get back into this book and finish it, but the summer has really eaten away at my ability to read actual books. Nonetheless, I am really attached to this novel!! It's super interesting and I think I might like it a little more than CnP, but I'm not entirely certain. It's definitely a lot more homoerotic (shockingly). These nihilistic revolutionaries are so strange, man! There's a multitude of scenes I've marked which are insane out of context. Or even in context. As seen above, Kirillov is currently my favorite character. I dunno, he's just very charming! I too am severely depressed, have unconventional philosophical opinions about god, but also care deeply for humanity, and enjoy strong tea (at night! tsss~).

General Thoughts: Yes. Of course. I am, in fact, reading this because of the intrinsic role it plays in the plot of Hashihime. Leave me alone! I love weird, surreal, psychological novels! The general idea of it reminds me of another book I've read, The Room, in the sense that you are trapped within the mind of this protagonist which you know little about (except for a small percentage which is slowly revealed) and reality is something which you have to interpret entirely on your own based upon their unreliable narritave. Therefore, it seems like something totally up my alley.

General Thoughts: Since this novel is made up of a collection of various vignettes/short stories, ones which are extremely disturbing and mentally draining, I read a part of it every now again when I'm in the optimal mental state for somethin' real fucked up. So far, I really like it. I know some people feel negatively towards Michael Gira's writing, given how over the top it is in its depravity in a fashion almost akin to A Serbian Film, but I enjoy it for that exact reason! The chapters are rather short, so it's not as though it overstays its welcome. It's really just a brief read into whatever new fucked up thing Gira thought up for that chapter, and a bit of insight to the stories behind some of the songs in Swans' early catalogue. It's at least more respectable than a lot of splatterpunk fiction I've looked into. It's a bit hard to find physical copies of this book without spending a lot of money, but I do own a german copy of it!
